Atlanta EDM goes global: Global Dance Festival 2021
BY Matthew Demarko
We’re going to Colorado! Atlanta EDM is going national as our media team prepares to embark on a Global Dance journey.
Global Dance Festival 2021 is the latest from the eponymous team Global Dance, who has been hosting Rocky Mountain throw-downs for the better part of a decade. Known for the upcoming event as well as hosting Decadence NYE, Global Dance pleasantly surprised fans when they announced the return of Global Dance Festival earlier this year.
As festivals continue to be revived in 2021, the year looks brighter than ever. Global Dance will bring the celebration back to Empower Field at Mile High Stadium, and taking place in the heart of Denver, it’s always exciting to see how a festival can transform a sports arena and tailgating field into a technicolor PLUR playground.
From previous recap videos, it looks as if we can expect art attractions, carnival rides, a food truck village, and the vibes that we so desperately crave. Previous years had up to 5 different stages, and while we haven’t gotten a map or set times yet, we’re eagerly anticipating the surprises.
Heavy hitters coming to the stage include Tiesto, Kaskade, an Illenium B2B Said the Sky set, Zomboy, and a whole slew of others. They did a great job promoting up-and-coming artist on their Instagram Spotlight series, making us excited to walk away with new music to explore.
Of particular peaked interest is their announcement of the Crystal Cavern Silent Disco. Conjuring images of reflective and hypnotic shade, this silent disco has been known to keep up to 3 artists spinning at any one time. Whether we want to escape the heat or desire to be in control of the tunes, we’re definitely going spelunking over the weekend.
The festival starts Friday July 23 and goes to Saturday July 24. If you’ve got the adventurous spirit of an ATLien, you can still grab tickets below. We’ll see you there!
