About Satin Jackets
Formed in 2012 Satin Jackets is the brainchild of German producer Tim Bernhardt. Having enjoyed success through the late 90s and 00s producing house music under a variety of different aliases, Tim launched Satin Jackets as a vehicle to finally explore his lifelong love of disco.

Inspired by the clean productions of artists like CHIC and studio genius Trevor Horn, Tim set to reintroduce that polish and sheen back into the modern disco scene. “I had always been fascinated by how glossy people like Nile Rogers made their music,” Tim explains. “It always sounded like the musical equivalent of a fashion magazine’s cover. I’d been making more underground music for a while but really wanted to go in totally the other direction and create a really smooth, polished sound.”

The result was ‘You Make Me Feel Good’, a sublimely laidback slice of Balearic House that introduced Satin Jackets to the world. Released on storied Belgian label Eskimo Recordings, who had previously helped launch the careers of artists like Aeroplane and Lindstrom, the single quickly established Tim as one to watch amongst the thriving nu-disco scene.

New York’s Layton Giordani stands firm as one of the planet’s most popular tastemakers from techno’s new school. His pioneering musical vision serves as a contemporary voice for the passionate younger generation of cutting edge electronic music fans.

A studio obsessive with absolute dedication to his craft, Layton’s diverse repertoire of sounds today presents a new forward facing soundscape of hi energy techno and underground house aimed firmly at the peak time dance floor.

Inspired by the profound experience he had in his teens, of watching the masterful Danny Tenaglia rock Pacha NY all night long, Layton began to hone his own skills behind the decks, eventually landing a pivotal residency at Brooklyn’s iconic clubbing institution Output NY. It was here Layton’s abilities quickly sharpened and where he began to catch the eye of the A list guests playing the venue each week. It was thanks to the initial faith Output instilled in him that Layton then began making a name for himself far beyond America’s east coast.

Under the mentorship of Adam Beyer, Layton honed his talents further by closely studying the cardinal cuts from techno’s illustrious and rich history. The affiliation resulted in his first EP, Unspoken being signed to Beyer’s Truesoul label which was shortly followed by Rivington, Layton’s debut release on Drumcode, the label that would then become Layton’s home.

GENESI

JOHN DIGWEED

English DJ, producer, label owner, and club promoter John Digweed played a key role in developing and popularizing the progressive house sound during the 1990s before settling into a niche of prolific live output in the 2000s and 2010s. Both solo and with his longtime cohort Sasha, Digweed has released countless mix CDs, several of which have helped establish the format. Constantly touring throughout the world, he has performed at numerous high-profile clubs and festivals, with a monthly residency at New York club Twilo during the late ’90s/early 2000s achieving the most recognition. His marathon DJ sets have been known to exceed ten hours in length. He has appeared in DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 DJs poll over a dozen times, topping the list in 2001. As a producer, he has recorded a decent amount of dancefloor anthems as one half of Bedrock, his duo with Nick Muir, in addition to remixes of songs by artists such as New Order, Underworld, and the Orb.
