Way Gooder is, simply put, an Atlanta-based House Music collective hell-bent on bringing you the grooviest, eclectic and vibey tunes with an infinity for dirty basslines. Founding members consist of Emory Schwall (Red Hat), Kelly Romo and Jalen Jackson. The trio assembled after realizing there wasn’t much of a presence for tech, bass and future house in their beloved city and decided to create said scene. The collective centers their sound around tech, future and bass house.
The Way Gooder Sound Collective Pilot Patio Party is an ode to those that paved the way for us to do our thing and play what we love all while taking a step into the future sounds of house music’s tomorrow. Come be a part of the movement, we’re Way Gooder.
****Kelly Romo****
Kelly Romo is a local heavyweight in her own right. She is known for her unmatched style, fresh energy and fiery performances with a genre-bending production style and DJ sets filled with sub-lo bass, minimal trap and house. Her origins in classical violin and piano, magnetic stage presence, and carefully crafted mixing abilities have landed consistent gigs with District, Chop Shop at Believe Music Hall, Bass Family ATL, Torch DnB at The Masquerade, Wildpitch and a residency at Loco Luna’s Electrobrunch. After sharing stages with Nugz Bunny and Flux Pavilion, Kelly is primed for even bigger events. With her constant work drive to create stellar works of art in and out of the studio, there’s no wonder the co-founder of Way Gooder is making big waves.
****Jalen Jackson****
The new kid on the block, Producer & DJ Jalen Jackson, is a definite force to be reckoned with. Within just a year and a half, Jalen held his own DJ residency in Buckhead, played Imagine Music Festival both 2017 and 2018, and has opened for top house artists Sacha Robotti and Halogen. Jalen has seen a meteoric rise to the top in 2019. His love for house music knows no bounds therefore keeping his audience grooving is a guarantee especially with his unique naughty tech house, future house, bass house, bassline / garage. Last summer saw Jalen as a regular on the lineup for Opera’s Day Club series,play alongside Treasure Fingers and Weiss with Subtle Events at MJQ while topping it off with amazing sets at Imagine Music Festival. You’d be remiss to pass up on witnessing one of Atlanta’s young gems.
****Red Hat****
A local veteran, Emory Schwall aka Red Hat, is no noob: beginning his days back at Quad to playing some of Atlanta’s most prestigious clubs i.e., District & Koo Koo Room. The co-founder of Way Gooder comes left-field with banging deep house and funky Nu Disco. A formidable producer as well, Red Hat goes more than enough firepower to get you groovin’ into the night.
